PURPOSE:To maintains a fuel battery always at an optimum operating temp. by detecting the power generating capacity of the fuel battery at all times by an internal temp. and output current and discharging the fuel battery by a forceenergizing means when the power generating capacity decreases to a specified value or below. CONSTITUTION:The supply of gaseous fuel to the fuel battery 1 is started by a gas supplying device. Since the fuel battery 1 is at ordinary temp. at this time, the power generating capacity Pf thereof is lower than the output Pr at the time of the optimum operating temp. and, therefore, the output signal S2 of a force-energizing means control circuit 11 rises to a high level to drive the force energizing means 4 which forcibly discharges the output terminal of the fuel battery 1. The self evolution of heat of the fuel battery 1 is caused in this way and its internal temp. is risen, by which the power generating capacity Pf is increased. The signal S2 falls to a low level and interrupts the force-energizing means 4 when the output Pr of a reference value setting device 6 is exceeded. The force leading out of the electric power from the fuel battery 1 is thus interrupted. The prohibition of an output control circuit 7 for processing is released and the processing is executed by the annihilation of the signal S2. |
