PURPOSE:To use a display device with a screen size from a small screen size to a large screen size by realizing a function selecting one color data from an RGB data in response to a picture element and giving the selected data as a data of the picture element to the system and a function allocating one RGB data to plural picture elements in pairs through the changeover. CONSTITUTION:When an external control command represents a 1st state, a command generating section 5 outputs a command representing the 1st state. A buffer memory section 6 realizes a 1st system in response to the 1st state. Each buffer memory section 6 in the 1st system receives an RGB data for each of periods TW1, TW2,...TWn. An X address counter 33 after being cleared by a horizontal synchronizing signal counts a sampling clock and outputs the count. A comparator 3 compares a setting value of an X address setting section 32 with a count of the counter 33 and sets a write enable signal when the count is a value between a start value and a stop value. When the count of the counter 33 exceeds the setting value of the setting section 32, the comparator 34 disables the write enable signal.
