Pipe repair appliance with cylindrical smoothing piece - applies synthetic resin layer by using distributor with compartment, seal, pressure sensor and ducts

The repair-appliance (1) for pipes (2) laid in the ground applies a setting artificial resin layer (5) to the pipes' inner wall by means of a cylindrical smoothing-piece (3). The smoother (3) has a distributor incorporating a compartment (7) the front of which has a seal (11) resting against the pipe (2). At least one pressure-sensor (17) measures the pressure of the synthetic resin (5) in the distributor and controls the movement of the smoother (3). The distributor has several feeder-ducts (16) taking the synthetic resin into the chamber (7), the smoother (3) and/or seal (11) have a protuberance (9) forming a rotationally symmetrical gap (13) with the lengthwise axis (8) of the appliance (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - A hydraulically smooth layer of resin is applied to the whole length of the pipe being repaired.
