The compactor includes at least one vibratory assembly including a weight being eccentrically carried on a vibrator shaft for imparting vibratory motion when rotating by way of a driven device mounted on it. The driven device is selectively driven by the drive device. The vibratory shaft has selected portions which are journalled in a vibratory housing. The latter is attached to one end of an arm, the opposite end of the arm has a flex mounting device for attaching to an interior side of the tamper plate. The interior side is opposite to the tamper side. A flexing axis of the flex mounting device is transverse to a direction of self-propelled travel. |
