<p>PURPOSE:To prevent bending caused by heat treatment over the whole length of a long shaft material and to manufacture product having good straightness by executing the heat treatment almost over the whole length of the long shaft material or the whole length in the part to execute the heat treatment at the same time while giving tension and rotation to the long shaft material. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of the long shaft materials 5 are laid on each laying base 9 on a chain conveyor 8, respectively, and conveyed to quenching process position and set to a position paralleled to each inductor 10 set at the upper part and while giving the tension so as to stretch from both ends to the axial direction of long shaft material 5, these are rotated as centering axial center. Under this condition, alternating current is supplied to the inductor 10 having almost the same length as the whole length of long shaft material 5 and the part facing to the inductor 10 is induction- heated at the same time over the whole length. Successively, rapidly cooling and quenching treatment is executed, and as the long shaft material 5 is held and stretched with chucks at both end parts thereof and the prescribed tension is applied, the development of bending caused by the heat treatment is prevented and the straight treated product is obtd.</p> |
