The space (2) contg. the power switch (8) is sepd. by a vertical partition (3) from the busbar compartment (4) and contact space (5) in which fixed contacts (7) are recessed behind shutters (6) operated by an opening and closure linkage (18) from angular cams (17) pivoted (16) above the switch carriage (1). The drive (11) has a shaft (12) and lever (13) with a follower (14) and a U-shaped link (15) having unequal arms (15a,15b) so that the follower moves additionally into engagement with the cams (17). It cooperates with the opening and closure mechanism (18) so that the opening of the shutters (6) is completed before the carriage (1) begins to move.
