Monolithic refractory lining is formed in a metallurgical ladle (10) from a vibrated material (6) which is dried by a burner arrangement (20) consisting of a basket-like arrangement of tubes (15), along which burner nozzles (25) are spaced. The tubes are supplied with fuel and the flames from the nozzles are directed towards the inner surface (7) of the lining. Nozzles can be moved parallel to the lining. ADVANTAGE - Uniform heating.
