The pallet has four 'L'-shaped corner uprights for the four vertical corner edges of the carton and a strap passed right round the whole. Corner uprights (2) at height equal to given floor clearance should be slotted out (3) in their two legs (2a) over half the leg width so that the leg can angled below this to form a support (7) for the carton, and/or the uprights (2) have a pair of opposing incisions to take an inserted -shaped bearer on its horizontal leg part. In this case the vertical bearer legs are drawn onto the upright from the outside by the enclosing strap. Pref. uprights and bearers consist of paper laminate or paper-cased shredded paper and plastics pressed material, extending right round the pallet corners. USE/ADVANTAGE - Mechanical handling. Pallet is easily assembled, handles cartons etc safely and permits stacking as required.
