<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the operation of an electronic computer from being continued with a wrong time by detecting that a time circuit is stopped by running-out of power from a dry cell at the time of power-on. CONSTITUTION:A generator which generates a time counting pulse supplied by a dry cell 14 and a time counting circuit are included in a CPU 1, and a battery backup memory 11 is provided where power is supplied from the battery 14 and data can be read and written by the CPU 1. At the time of power-off, preliminarily determined contents are written in the battery backup memory 11; and at the time of power-on, contents of the battery backup memory 11 are read out and it is confirmed whether they are equal to preliminarily determined contents or not. If they are not equal, an electronic computer use is informed that contents of the time are unsettled because of over-discharging of the dry cell 14 and the time must be set again. Thus, the operation with the wrong time is evaded.</p> |
