PURPOSE:To obtain a multi-gradation hard copy without using a complex processing circuit by using a liquid crystal panel of binary gradation by a method wherein an image signal data is binary coded with a specific threshold, a plurality of binary data are obtained by varying the threshold, and exposure is performed a plurality of times following them to form a multi-gradation image. CONSTITUTION:An image data for obtaining a hard copy is binary coded by a specific threshold with a binary circuit 82. Said binary coded data is displayed on a liquid crystal panel 18 of binary gradation to expose a recording medium. The threshold in the binary circuit 82 is varied to repeat the display on the liquid crystal panel 18 and the exposure. A multi-gradation image hard copy is obtained thereby, and a multi-gradation high quality image can be formed with the binary gradation liquid crystal panel with using a multi-gradation liquid crystal panel. |
