The invention relates to a conveyor belt for closed belt conveyors made of rubber or rubbery synthetic material with fabric and/or metal reinforcements embedded therein. The conveyor belt is guided in the closed belt conveyor installation with the formation of an oval cross-section in the closed state. In order properly to guide the closed conveyor belt while avoiding undesirable torsions, the conveyor belt (33) has five regions in the transverse direction. The central region (41) is symmetrically surrounded by two side regions (43, 45) with a lower transverse flexural stiffness than that of the central region (41). In the closed operating position, the two edge regions (47, 49) form an overlap area with a higher transverse flexural stiffness than that of the side regions (43, 45). |
