ARRANGEMENT FOR POSITIONING A FLEXIBLE DIVISION CARRIER OF A LENGTH-MEASURING SYSTEM ON A MACHINE

In an arrangement for positioning a flexible division carrier of a length-measuring system on a machine, a strip-shaped elastic division carrier (1) for translational division under clamping is mounted on a first machine element (2) and a scanning device (5) for the division is provided on a second machine element (3) which moves relative to the first machine element (2). A device for forced relative allocation between division carrier (1) and the scanning device (5) in the scanning direction (10) is provided. The scanning device (5) contains a group of paired nozzles consisting of at least one pair of nozzles connected to a pressure system. The single nozzles (6, 7) of a pair of single nozzles are located in relation to the scanning device (5) on either side of the division carrier (1), and at least one single nozzle (7) of the whole group moves relative to the scanning device (5) in the scanning direction (5). This mobility in the direction of the other single nozzle (6) of the pair of nozzles is limited by a limit stop (12) which guarantees a minimum distance from the other single nozzle of the pair of nozzles. The arrangement also in cludes a force-generating element (11) which presses this mobile single nozzle (7) in the direction of the limit stop (12).
