PURPOSE:To enhance a suction rate and to expand object types to be mounted by a method wherein, with reference to the feed state of an electronic component, a suction shaft is turned in such a way that a suction nozzle can execute a stable suction operation in advance. CONSTITUTION:A turning and moving device 16 is installed additionally to a P2; the direction of an electronic component 1 housed in a component housing belt 2 is stored in advance; a turning and moving angle and its direction are instructed to turning and moving devices 16 for the P2 and a P7; the tip of a suction nozzle 11 is made rectangular so as to match the small electronic component 1; a suction hole which is -shaped is made in it. A sucked electronic component 20a, provided with a lead terminal, in its suction posture cannot be fitted to a holding-position readjustment device 19 of a P3. Consequently, the turning and moving device 16 is driven on the basis of information stored in advance; a suction shaft 13 is turned so as to obtain an electronic component 20b, provided with a lead terminal, in a readjustable posture.
