<p>An improved process is provided for the detection, identification, and/or enumeration of viable cells in bovine milk wherein viable cells are selectively labeled with a fluorescent dye and then identified and/or counted. In this process, esterase-dependent dyes, nucleic acid binding dyes, and dyes that detect intracellular oxidative activity are used.</p> |
