An input unit (9) supplies the vehicle desired speed. An electronic regulating unit adjusts the actual speed to this desired speed using an adjusting motor (7) influencing the motor load depending on the speed difference between the vehicle desired speed and the actual speed corresp. to a specified type of regulation. Upon resumption of the regulating operation after an interruption, the adjusting signal supplied from the regulating unit (6) to the adjusting element (7) is regulated up to this time according to the load signal specified by the driver. The regulating modifies the load signal specified by the driver if this load signal oversteps the set adjusting signal available from the regulating unit (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - Type system further developed so that, upon resumption of regulating operation after its interruption, vehicle with acceleration specified by driver, is regulated to original vehicle desired speed.
