PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fabric which has reduced easy flammability and is useful for garments, curtains and the like, by treating with a flame retardant a fabric which comprises natural or synthetic fibers containing specific polyalkene fibers. CONSTITUTION: This fabric is obtained by forming a fabric from natural fibers (for example, cotton or wool) and/or synthetic fibers (for example, polyamide fibers) containing 3-30 wt.% (preferably 5-15 wt.%) of polyalkene fibers (preferably 30-50 mm staple polyethylene fibers) having a modulus of >=60 GPa and a tensile strength of >=2 GPa and then treating the fabric with a flame retardant, for example, comprising a mixture of N-methylol(dialkylphosphonium propionamide), urea and trimethylolamide. |
