PURPOSE:To obtain the title drawn and molded article suitable in the field of space, aviation, etc., having high strength, high modulus of elasticity and heat resistance, by spinning a solution of a specific polyamic acid in an organic polar solvent into an aqueous coagulating bath, forming hydrogel and drawing. CONSTITUTION:A dope (e.g. solution of polyamic acid) having 5-30wt.% polymer concentration comprising 4-30wt.% polyamic acid consisting of an aromatic diamine (e.g. p-phenylenediamine) having a chain extension bond spreading in the same axis or an aromatic diamine (e.g. 2,6-diaminenaphthaline) having a chain extension bond spreading in parallel in the opposite direction or a mixture thereof and an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride (e.g. pyromellitic anhydride) in an organic polar solvent is spun to an aqueous coagulating bath to form hydrogel having preferably 200-600% degree of swelling. The hydrogel for example, is subjected to ring formation through dehydration to give the objective drawn and molded article. |
