<p>In a process for manufacturing specially shaped metallic or ceramic bodies, such as sheets, films, membranes, ceramic sanitary ware or the like, a preform or end form is moulded or cast from a free-flowing, anhydrous, skin-forming starting material. The starting material for this preform or end form contains and/or is admixed with molecularly bonded metals or inorganic ceramic base materials. This preform or end form is dried if necessary and then treated with sensible and/or latent heat energy in a neutral, reducing or oxidizing atmosphere so that the molecularly bound and/or admixed substances are converted to a metallic body or to an oxide or non-oxide ceramic, with release of the volatile organic ingredients of the starting material.</p> |
