摘要 PURPOSE:To easily display a defect flaw and to accurately detect it by counting picture elements of a binary-coded image by two binary coding circuits respectively and using the two different numbers of picture elements which are counted with different threshold values for decision making. CONSTITUTION:The binary coding circuits 13 and 14 normalize image data obtained by a CCD camera 4 so that the intensity of picture elements larger than a certain threshold value is 1 and the intensity of picture elements smaller than it is 0; and the circuits 13 and 14 have the different threshold values. A picture element quantity counting circuit 15 counts picture elements whose intensity is 1 in the image data normalized by the circuit 13 and a picture element quantity counting circuit 16 counts the picture elements as to the image data normalized by the circuit 14 similarly. Then the numbers of picture elements exceeding the threshold values calculated by circuits 15 and 16 are inputted to a decision circuit and an output circuit 17 to test whether either value is in a picture element quantity range 18 or not. Thus, it can be decided whether or not there is the display with the two counted different number of picture elements.
