PURPOSE:To obtain the title fiber excellent in both antifungal and deodorant nature, thus useful for e.g. white overalls for medical use by treating with an aqueous sodium percarbonate solution a polyester fiber incorporated with specific zeolite particles, either directly or after made into a cloth. CONSTITUTION:A fiber made from a fiber-forming polyester incorporated with zeolite particles containing at least one kind of metallic ion selected from silver, copper, zinc and tin [e.g. synthetic zeolite; metallic ion content being pref. 2-15wt.%; mean size being <=1mu] (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate; zeolite content being pref. 0.5-3wt.%) is either directly or, after made into a cloth, treated at pref. normal temperature to 70 deg.C with an aqueous sodium percarbonate solution with a concentration of 0.1-2wt.%, thus giving the objective fiber. |
