PURPOSE:To improve resistances to hydration, durability, pollution and corrosion by forming a coating layer by applying a silicone compound on the surface of a molding of a lime-based refractory obtained from pressing of caustic lime and burning. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of crushed caustic lime and a lubricant (e.g. graphite- based powder) is charged in a fixed mold and molded by subjecting to >=1ton/ cm<2> pressure, than the surface of resultant molding of a lime-based refractory is painted with a silicone compound (e.g. silicone oil), thus heated at about 280 deg.C and a coating layer not bringing the molding into contact with humidity to obtain a lime-based refractory. Next, the refractory is laminated on inner wall of a high-temperature vessel and the high-temperature vessel is operated, then coating material in the coating layer is reacted with caustic lime by generated intense heat, thus a sparingly soluble substance is generated to accelerate sintering of the caustic lime. |
