PURPOSE:To stably obtain the titled expanded body having uniform minute cells at a high expansion ratio by mixing a diglycidyl ester compound into a material to be extruded in advance of a melt-extrusion step. CONSTITUTION:Into an aromatic polyester containing preferably 2-40wt% of an expanding agent (e.g., dichlorofluoromethane) having a boiling point (at ordinary pressure) of not higher than 200 deg.C, preferably not higher than 150 deg.C, is mixed 0.1-3wt% (based on the aromatic polyester) of a bifunctional carboxylic acid diglycidyl ester (e.g., 1,2-diglycidyl hexahydrophthalate). The resulting mixture is melt-extruded to obtain the objective expanded body. |
