Appts. for prodn. of a wear plate comprises at least two welding heads. A process for prodn. of a wear plate comprises build-up welding mixts. of several powdered or wire-like additional materials on a base material using the above appts., in which the additional materials are applied on the base material to degrade the stresses produced on build-up welding.
