The invention concerns a device and method for preparing and/or coating the surfaces of hollow construction elements which have at least two openings linking their outside and inside surfaces. First, at least two reactant-gas mixtures (I, II), for treatment of the outside and inside surfaces of the construction elements are prepared using gas generators, and the first mixture (I) is passed over the outside surfaces and then over the inside surfaces of the construction elements while the second mixture (II) is passed over the inside surfaces and then over the outside surfaces of the construction elements.
