The pipe accommodates the inserted nozzle of a fuel-pump, and contains an annular seal working against the external surface of the nozzle. The bristles (8) of the seal (7) extend radially inwards, being typically of plastics. The seal itself can fit in an annular internal groove (10) in the pipe, and which is open to the inside. It can alternatively be slid into the pipe (6) until it encounters a stop, against which it then held by one or more locking members.
