PURPOSE:To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric suitable for sanitary material, etc., effective in suppressing the side-leakage by using a long nonwoven fabric made of a thermoplastic hydrophilic fiber and having a specific width and subjecting both sides of the fabric to water-repelling treatment leaving the middle part of a specific width in hydrophilic state. CONSTITUTION:A fluorine-based water-repellent, etc., is applied in longitudinal stripe pattern at regular spacings to a nonwoven fabric made of a hydrophilic fiber material such as cellulosic fiber or a thermoplastic hydrophilic fiber produced by hydrophilizing a synthetic fiber such as polyester. The nonwoven fabric is heat-treated and slit to 5-40 cm width to obtain the objective nonwoven fabric for facing, subjected to water-repelling treatment at both sides while leaving the middle part of 3-20 cm width in untreated state and suitable for sanitary material or paper diaper. |
