PURPOSE:To improve a rise characteristic after a carbon-dioxide gas laser oscillator has been left for many hours and to shorten the time which elapses from the time when its power supply is tuned on to a machining operation as a laser machining machine by a method herein, at the carbon-dioxide gas laser oscillator, a mixed gas containing hydrogen gas besides carbon dioxide gas is used. CONSTITUTION:A laser-gas bomb 29 is connected, by mean of a laser-gas supply pipe 27 including an opening and shutting valve 25, to a halfway part at a laser-gas circulation passage 23; and a new laser gas is supplied from the laser-gas bomb 29. The laser-gas bomb 29 stores and houses a mixed gas which has mixed hydrogen gas in addition to carbon dioxide gas, helium gas and nitrogen gas in a proper ratio. A laser gas which is given to a laser discharge chamber 7 as a laser medium contains hydrogen gas in addition to carbon dioxide gas, helium gas and nitrogen gas. As a result, even when the surface of an anode electrode 9 or a cathode electrode 11 is oxidized, an oxide is returned to an electrode-constituent metal by a reduction reaction of the oxide with the hydrogen gas in the laser gas. At the same time, when a hygroscopic material is arranged inside an oscillator, H2O which is produced at the same time can forcible be removed. |
