PURPOSE:To obtain an antipeptic ulcer agent, containing a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of a specific macrophage activating ability, having a high chemotherapeutic coefficient with hardly any side effects, suppliable in a large amount and capable of being blended even with ordinarily ingested foods. CONSTITUTION:The subject antiulcer agent is obtained by containing an LPS in which the content of an LPS, positive to limulus tests and providing an ED50 of the macrophage activating ability is 0.4-100ng/ml culture solution when a sigmoid curve indicating the macrophage activating ability (%) by standarizing the activating ability to provide a TNF production of the macrophage without addition of the LPS to be 0% and the activating ability to afford the maximum constant amount of the TNF production to be 100% in the ordinate axis, and the LPS content positive to the limulus tests in the LPS on a logarithmic scale in the abscissa axis is plotted using the macrophage activating ability of the LPS to activate the TNF productivity of the macrophage cultured in vitro as an index. An LPS collected from bacteria or plants or synthetic lipid A, etc., can be used as the LPS. |
