The invention relates to monoclonal antibodies capable of reacting specifically with thioctic acid in oxidized form while producing a complex of the type antigene-antibody and coupling products, either monoclonal anti-TA antibodies or TA fixed directly or indirectly to a insoluble support. Said coupling products are useful for the diagnosis of the presence of thioctic acid or anti-thioctic antibodies respectively.
