PURPOSE:To get a plasma display panel having good flatness, uniform discharge voltage and a good display grade through a simple process to realize a color display with less luminance unevenness by sandwitchingly holding a barrier material made up of anodic oxide film of aluminum between substrates. CONSTITUTION:An electrode 14 is formed on a substrate with glass surface 11 as a substrate of plasma display panel by the sputtering technique using ITO for material, and on the other hand, an electrode 15 is formed in stripes arranged such that the stripes intersect at right angles one another using nickel paste, etc., as material. Thereafter, anodic oxide film 16 of aluminum is put in between two substrates 11, 13 in such a state that the electrodes are opposed to each other, and Ne-Xe (0.1%) is sealed therein so that they are sticked together with glass flit through a circumferential sealing portion. A plasma display panel thus obtained is one which is high in display grade, whose discharge voltage is constant and considerably free from luminance unevenness. |
