PURPOSE:To detect the abnormality of the leak detector by detecting the flow of a small leak current to a charger by applying output voltage lower than usual high output voltage. CONSTITUTION:When a main switch is pushed, a DC controller outputs a low voltage ON signal 30. A high voltage power supply 11 outputs low output voltage of 1kV generating no corona discharge, for instance, when the low voltage ON signal 30 is inputted to a control circuit 33. When this voltage of 1kV is applied to a charger 10, the output of a comparator 40 is held to a 'L' state as it is but, when a leak current flows to the insulating body 41 of the charger 10, a current also flows to a current detecting resistor 39. For example, when a current of 1mA flows in a resistance value of 1kOMEGA, voltage of 1kOMEGAX1mA=1V is generated. When reference voltage is set to 0.5V, the output of the comparator 40 becomes 'H' and a leak detection signal 22 informing the generation of abnormality is outputted and the signal 32 is inputted to a control circuit 33 and the output voltage of the high voltage power supply 11 is turned OFF or lowered. |
