PURPOSE:To improve stability by varying the moment around a steering shaft due to a propeller by varying the rake angle of the propeller. CONSTITUTION:A shaft cylinder 5 on which a propeller 4 is installed is installed on a rotary shaft 3 which projects to the rear side of a gear case 2 installed in the lower part of an outboard motor 1. A plurality of propellers are formed integrally in radial form on the shaft cylinder 5, and a rake angle psi is formed on the front side of the propeller 4. The root part of the propeller 4 is set close to the rear edge of the shaft cylinder 5, and set apart from the gear case 2. The resonance point of the propeller 4 can be changed by setting the rake angle psi to the reverse front side, and stability is improved, and the generation of dutch roll can be prevented. Further, the propeller 4 can be separated from the gear case 2 by installing the propeller 4 at the rear part of the shaft cylinder 5, and the influence of the disturbance of the water stream can be prevented. |
