PURPOSE:To improve hardness, mar resistance, abrasion resistance, solvent resistance, adhesive property and dyeability by adding an epoxy-contg. silicon compd., a tetrafunctional silicon compd, a specified inorg. fine particle and a curing agent. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. epoxy-contg. silicon compd. of formula I (wherein R<2> is epoxy-contg. 2C-8C org. group; R<2> is 1C-6C alkyl, alkenyl, haloalkyl or aryl; and R<3> is H, 1C-6C alkyl, alkoxyalkyl or acyl) or its partial hydrolyzate, 2-200pts.wt. tetrafunctional silicon compd. of formula II (wherein R<3> is 2C-8C epoxy-contg. org. group) or its partial hydrolyzate, 100-300pts.wt. (in terms of solid weight) of an inorg. fine particulate material (colloidal titania, colloidal antimny oxide or colloidal alumina) having a particle size of 1-200mmu, 0.05-10pts. wt. curing catalyst (e.g. aluminum perchlorate) and, if desired, water, org. solvent, additives, etc., are mixed together. |
