PURPOSE:To obtain the lightweight tilt device of a vessel propulsion machine by crossing-connecting the first and second links at the intermediate part and supporting the thrust of each link by the bending load not only by the axial force. CONSTITUTION:A propulsion unit 13 is tilted through the upward shift, by driving the first and second links 21 and 22 by the operation of a cylinder device 29. Accordingly, the set change from a tilt down position to a high speed navigation position, and further to an on-sea storage position is permitted. Since the first and second links 21 and 22 are crossing-connected in the intermediate part, each link supports thrust not only by the axial force but the bending load. Accordingly, it is not necessary to increase the sectional area over the whole length of the link, but it is enough to increase the sectional secondary moment only on the section having the larger bending moment. Further, the sectional secondary moment can be increased only by the sectional shape even in case of a small sectional area. Accordingly, the device can be made light- weight as a result. |
