FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: pyrolyzer comprises metal tube 1, furnace body provided with outer smoke stack, furnace 4, loading device 5, pistons 6 with rods 7, drying chamber 8 provided with steam-discharge tube 9, pyrolysis chamber 10 with tube 11 passing steam to zone of carbon activation and tubes 12 for gas discharge from pyrolysis zone and tube 13 for gas discharge from activation zone. Passed inside pyrolysis chamber 11 is smoke tube 14 for supplying gases to drying chamber 8 from smoke channel 15 of pyrolysis chamber 10, water heater 16, water cooler 17, hydroseal 18 with service tank 19. Combined in pyrolyzer are pyrolysis and activation in natural sequence with minimum power consumption. EFFECT: higher productivity of the process, reduced cost and higher service properties of charcoal. 4 cl, 1 dwge
