The improvements consist in establishing a mutual helical winding between the conductors 1 and 2 which connect the alternating-current generator 3 to the electrodes of the electrolytic cell 4 for the purpose of eliminating the induction effects B which are conventionally generated in the "embarrado" and which determine a considerable drop in voltage on the line when the current intensities are high. Specifically, use is made of flexible cables 1 and 2 substituting the aforesaid "embarrado", which cables, in order to dissipate the heat generated by the high current density which has to pass through them, are cooled, preferably by water. If, instead of two single cables 1 and 2, use is made of various pairs of cables 1-2, 1'-2', ..., of smaller section, also wound, it is unnecessary for said cables to be cooled. <IMAGE>
