The system aims to retain the values of the variables of the program which is being executed in a non-volatile re- recordable memory 4, thereby providing a solution to the problem of the loss of the program when there is a cut in the supply of electrical energy in electrical domestic appliances which incorporate an electronic programmer. To this end it has means for detecting the failure in the power-supply network before the control system is without power, and for re-initiating the program from the point at which it was interrupted once the power supply has been restored. The system is constituted by the functional association of two independent, direct-current power-supply sources 1,2, one 1 for the elements with greater consumption and the other 2 for supplying the microcontroller 3 and appended circuits amongst which is found the device for storing the values of the variables of the program 4. <IMAGE>
