Device for operating on detachment of the retina, for use in those cases where there is a big tear or there is considerable separation from its normal bed on the choroids, being made up of an elastic band 4, balls 10 and an injector 9 with a tubular end 15, in such a way that the elastic band 4 of silicone 7 contains permanent magnets 5, said band 4 being able to be subdivided, and the magnets 5 having a slight curvature 6 in their face adapted to the external surface of the eye over the sclera, inasmuch as the balls 10 are made up of a core 11 of iron or steel covered with silicone 12, with provision having been made so that when the tubular end 15 of the injector 9 is inserted into the vitreous cavity 13 by an incision 14 in the sclera, and the band 4 is in position, the injector 9 releases the balls 10 on the internal surface of the retina 2, positioning it on its normal bed on the choroids. <IMAGE>
