PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage alloy electrode which can be manufactured easily and is excellent in discharging characteristics of high efficiency, cycle characteristics and gas absorbing performance. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a hydrogen storage alloy electrode comprises: a coating process in which a hydrogen storage alloy is dispersed in a mixture solution composed of an acid solution containing metal ions of nickel and/or cobalt and an alkaline solution, a pH value of the mixture solution is adjusted to a predetermined alkaline value so that the surface of the hydrogen storage alloy is coated with a metal compound composed of nickel and/or cobalt; and a heating process in which the hydrogen storage alloy coated with the metal compound in the coating process is heated at hydrogen atmosphere. The hydrogen storage alloy which is subjected to surface treatment in the above processes is coated with the metal such as nickel and/or cobalt, thereby providing a hydrogen storage alloy electrode excellent in discharging characteristics of high efficiency, cycle characteristics and gas absorbing performance. |
