PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MPU by which inexpensive and simplified debugging is enabled in place of a debugging monitor program requiring incircuit emulator (ICE) or customize. SOLUTION: When an MPU 10 includes a CPU core 11, cache memory 12 and communication controller 14, a debugging monitor program 15 for debugging the MPU 10 is written on the cache memory 12 by a general-purpose ROM/PLD writer, and this written debugging monitor program 15 is executed by the CPU core 11. Thus, the MPU 10 can be debugged without being affected by any peripheral equipment. |
