PURPOSE:To make easy the performance of self-test printing by controlling a self-test print device in such a manner that it test-prints with varying image density continuously in accordance with test print instructions by a starting device. CONSTITUTION:If an engine driver 60 enters in a routine STP, it is interpreted whether or not a device is in 'printable state', and next whether or not a test print SW 46 is pressed. If these interpretations are affirmative, an image density is set as 240dpi, then the engine driver jumps to a subroutine TP and the number of rotations of each PM 34 is switched in compliance with a set image density. At the same time, a signal is connected to a test pattern generator in an optical writing control circuit 45 to instruct preparation of the type of a patter, its size, sheet feed and other requirements. If these requirements are completely prepared, a pattern equal to each single line is allowed to be output from the optical writing control circuit 45, and this process is repeated until the printing of a single page is completed. Then if the printing is completed, the engine driver 50 returns to its home position, then sets the image density to 300dpi and again jumps to the subroutine TP. |
