THERMAL RECORDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To provide high speed recording aptitude and to enhance resolving power and printing preserbability by providing a thermal recording layer containing a dye precursor and a developer developing the color of the dye precursor at the time of heating on the coating layer provided on a minute air bubble-containing polyester film specified in apparent density and hiding power and stretched at least in a uniaxial direction. CONSTITUTION:A coating layer is provided to a minute air bubble-containing polyester film with apparent density of 0.40-1.30g/cm<3> and hiding power of 0.2 or more and a thermal recording layer containing a dye precursor and a developer developing the color of the dye precursor at the time of heating is provided on the coating layer. The compound constituting the coating layer may be a high-molecular or low-molecular compound and a coating material can be selected corresponding to the constitution of the recording layer so far as the appearance of the base film and the stability of the thermal recording layer are not obstructed.
