Maintenance-free device to prevent fire spreading from burning storage tanks

The device has in the storage tank at least one closed container which contains an extinguishing agent either under pressure or not so. The agent may be a liquid or a powder. When the contents of the tank are burning, the container is destroyed and the extinguishing agent is released. At least parts of the container are burnt or evaporated. The container is destroyed because the extinguishing agent expands through the heat generated. A mechanical spring presses this agent out of the container. In the tank is located an extinguishing agent attached to a fixed mass by a binding agent or by sintering.
