Method and arrangement for removal of air from a fiber web 5 and filters 6, 7 that are being dried. In the method 5 and filters 6, 7 are passed through a number of successive venting zones, saturated steam being passed through each venting zone and the air-mixed steam that passes through fiber web 5 and filter 6, 7 is removed from the respective venting zones separately. The arrangement has a number of venting chambers 9-11 through which fiber web 5 and filters 6, 7 are passed. In addition the arrangement has devices 9a-11a to supply saturated steam to the respective chambers 9-11 and a device to remove the air-mixed steam separately from the respective chambers 9-11. <IMAGE>
