PURPOSE:To obtain a tomographic image having a high resolution at real time and improve ultrasonic diagnostic ability and operability by installing an ultrasonic transducer in a narrow tube, and disposing a balloon for blood vessel formation on the outer circumferential part of the narrow tube. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic probe 1 has an ultrasonic transducer 11 for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves disposed in a catheter 30, and a balloon 27 for blood vessel formation disposed on the outer circumferential part of the catheter 30. According to the above constitution, an isthmus is extended by the balloon 27 provided on the outer circumferential part of the catheter 30 having the ultrasonic transducer 11 installed thereto, the ultrasonic transducer 22 is mechanically or electronically scanned, so that the cross section of a blood vessel extended by the balloon 27 can be grasped by the tomographic image by ultrasonic transmission and receiving. Thus, a tomographic image having a high resolution can be obtained at real time while treating, and ultrasonic diagnostic ability and operability can be improved. |
