PURPOSE:To ensure that high whiteness degree, excellent printing ability, out standing image preservation of a recorded image, specially plasticizer resistance are maintained by adding an organic pigment with through pores to a protecting layer. CONSTITUTION:An organic pigment with through pores is spherical in shape and consists of individual particles having through pores like tunnels. The recommended polymer to be used is of styrene with a comparatively higher glass transition point. In addition, the recommended particle diameter of an organic pigment having through pores is in the range of 0.05mum to 10mum, prefer ably 0.1mum to 3mum for the protecting layer of a thermal recording element. If a partially saponificated polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification degree of 90% or less as one of binders is used with a specific organic pigment, the preservability of a recorded image is especially improved. It is recommended that 5 to 500 pts.wt. of organic pigment be added for 100 pts.wt. of binder for adjustment. The adjusted application solution is applied to a thermal record ing layer using any appropriate application device. In this case, it is recommended that the application dose be generally 0.1 to 20g/m<2>, preferably 0.5 to 10g/m<2> for adjustment. |
