PURPOSE:To enable treatment of a used ion exchange resin in a short time at the time of transfer by drying the resin in a tower with warm air and dis charging the dried resin from the tower by suction. CONSTITUTION:When an ion exchange resin used in a water treating apparatus, etc., in a nuclear power plant, etc., is transferred, water in an ion exchange resin tower 1 is drained and air is circulated in the tower 1 by a blower 12 temporarily fixed between a vent valve 4 and a drain valve 5 to dry the ion exchange resin. At the time when the resin is dried to such a degree that it can be transferred with air owing to satisfactory flowability, an air pipe 13 leading to the vent valve 4 is opened, the suction pipe 15 of a sucker is led to an ion exchange resin bed 6 through a manhole 11 and the ion exchange resin is vacuum-sucked. By this method, the used ion exchange resin is simply transferred in a short time. |
