The present invention relates to an installation and to a method making it possible to exploit secondary oil deposits, whose individual production capacities are insufficient to justify investment in conventional oil exploitation devices. - The installation according to the invention includes, in combination with a main platform (8) equipped with the normal production means (9), a floating support (3) fitted with a pumping system allowing transfer of the oil effluent, anchoring means (2) connecting the said floating support to the bed of the sea, first means (6) for transferring the effluent between the said deposits and the said floating support, and second means (7) for transferring the effluent between the said floating support and the said main platform, the said second transfer means resting on the sea bed. - The method according to the invention is characterised in that the available production capacities of the main platform are used for processing the secondary deposits, the effluents being raised from the deposit to the floating support using a pumping system and using first transfer means (6), before being sent to the main platform using the second transfer means (7) without separation of their constituents. - Application to the exploitation of secondary oil deposits. <IMAGE>
