PURPOSE:To binarize a multi-chip image sensor output signal with high accuracy by stopping the operation of a binarizing circuit for a relevant period to a sensor output of an overlapped part. CONSTITUTION:An image sensor 3 outputs a bit signal O8 for a part spatially overlapped and then outputs a signal for a part not overlapped continuously based on a clock from a timing clock generator 4. The output from the image sensor 3 is inputted to a serial connection circuit 5 and passes through a black level clamp circuit 7 and a sample-and-hold circuit 8 and is inputted to an A/D converter 9. In this case, the conversion clock for the A/D converter 9 and a binarizing circuit 10 is stopped while the circuit 5 outputs the signal O8. Thus, the binarized signal of the overlapped part is not outputted and binarizing processing with high accuracy is implemented. |
