DC voltage transformer e.g. for power conversion system

A DC voltage transformer with n capacitors (C1---Cn) arranged electrically in series between two high-voltage (HV) terminals. Several switches are included and are actuated by means of a sequence control device (6). At least two pairs of low-voltage (LV) terminals are provided and each first capacitor (C1---Cn-1) respectively by means of two switches (21---2n-1; 41---4n-1) is connected to the first pair (8,10) of LV terminals, and each second capacitor (C2---Cn) is connectable by two switches (22---2n, 42---4n) to the LV second pair of terminals (12,14). The sequence control device (6) is fed with the actual voltage levels (U1---Un) of the n capacitors (C1- --Cn).
